eazyBI Community Days: What to Expect?

eazyBI Community Days 2024 in Berlin was a remarkable event for our customers and us, the eazyBI team. This annual event is a win-win for both parties: we can share our knowledge and gather instant feedback, and customers can learn from the source and shape the product’s future. Now, let’s wrap up the major aspects of the past event and see what is coming next!

Here are the top six highlights from the last gathering, which we promise to keep for the next year as well:

  1. Real use cases where customers shared their practical experiences, highlighting their hacks, struggles, gains, and decision-making processes.

  2. News updates from direct sources when Raimonds (eazyBI founder and CEO) and the team introduced eazyBI AI Assistants and new features like restoring deleted cubes.

  3. Training sessions where eazyBI experts provided training for report builders and data admins.

  4. Panel discussion about life within the Atlassian ecosystem and lively hallway track.

  5. Support bar, where experts offer on-the-spot solutions and report creation.

1. Real Use Cases

This year, attendees were treated to a series of presentations showcasing our customer use cases from technical as well as business perspectives. Our customers did not hold back, sharing their genuine experiences, including both struggles and successes. From our partners and customers, we learned how to build control reports to ensure data trustworthiness, listened to the experience of implementing report-based decision-making processes within a team, and were reminded about simple yet underused features to enhance teamwork, among many more.

This is our community event, and every user can have their say there. We and other attendees were amazed at how eazyBI can be used in real life. We believe that each eazyBI user’s experience is valid and can help others. This customer use case section is definitely a keeper for the next year! We are waiting for your story here as well!

2. News Updates from Direct Sources

As per tradition, Raimonds, the founder and main developer of eazyBI, kicked off the event with news. Since the eazyBI event is a point of reference for our team, all juicy news is kept (or finalized) for this hour-long presentation!

This year’s standout announcement was the introduction of eazyBI AI Assistants to help create BI reports and calculations, and we hope they fill the gap between the first steps in eazyBI and mastering reports. Additionally, the newly introduced “Snapshot Session: Pro Tips and Feature Highlights” showcased newly invented features like instant restoration of deleted cubes and organizing folders in dashboards in 5-7 minute long (and funny) talks. In the same manner, eazyBI experts showed tricky ways how to do things in eazyBI: for instance, create summaries that can be converted into detailed reports with just a few clicks or import additional data for users.

We loved our customers' immediate reaction to eazyBI news and features, the honest feedback they gave us, and the light in their eyes, when they understood how this demonstrated feature would help them tremendously! Are you asking us if we will continue that? Of course!

3. Training Sessions

As usual, eazyBI consultants delivered several informative talks to equip users with the skills needed to maximize their use of eazyBI or reveal what is behind the scenes (i.e., what happens when you open the report and retrieve the results). Each year, we experiment with the best ways and topics of how to conduct training sessions. This year, we had two dedicated training session tracks: one focused on report builders, offering step-by-step guidance on crafting different reports, while another aimed at data admins, providing deeper insights into data pre-calculations and adjustments.

We understand that educational presentations and training sessions are the core of eazyBI community days, and we will tirelessly continue to figure out the best possible ways to help customers understand the tool. Keeper? Definitely yes.

4. Lively Discussions

This year, discussions played a crucial role in the event. The very first panel discussion we organized was on life in the Atlassian ecosystem. Starting with our panelists' experiences on the benefits of collaboration between Atlassian and various apps, debates concluded on the future of AI and its implications for data reporting and impact on communication within the community. The panelists were from Atlassian, solution partners, and our founder, so they looked at the situation from different viewpoints.

You may wonder why, during eazyBI Community days, we always use round tables in the ballroom. The answer is to ease communication whenever possible. The informal hallway track also provides invaluable insights, allowing for spontaneous, in-depth conversations among attendees during the breaks or while the next speaker sets up. We will definitely continue that!

5. Support Bar

This year, Support Bar was a constant hub of activity, instead of cocktails serving immediate solutions to attendees' challenges. Staffed by eazyBI experts from the support and development teams, this bar’s menu provided:

  • On-the-spot report creation;

  • Writing of calculation formulas;

  • Coding bug-fixes.

We love that this once-in-a-year support model ensures that attendees leave with practical solutions and new skills. eazyBI community days are the only public event where all the eazyBI team members are available, so you can be sure the solution will be found in the support bar!

6. Sightseeing Morning Run and Walk

An old eazyBI tradition is morning runs and walks whenever we are together, and we love to share this experience with our community. Participants explored the historical part of Berlin, Brandenburger Tor, and Tiergarten, combining fitness with sightseeing and good companionship. This tradition will continue next year in Riga, offering another unique way to experience the host city.
